TL;DR

Well-known cryptocurrency exchanges like KuCoin, Gate.io, and Bitget have supported the upcoming launch of TREAT, announcing special token distributions to users.
Despite the excitement, people should beware of fraudsters who offer fake services involving the meme coin.

How to Claim the Tokens?

Shiba Inu’s ecosystem continues to evolve, expanding beyond its origins as a meme coin. The most recent example of that progress is the upcoming launch of TREAT, scheduled for January 14. The coin is designed to enhance utility and engagement across the network’s projects. It will also serve as a reward token within the ecosystem and provide liquidity for the proposed stablecoin SHI.

Some leading cryptocurrency exchanges that have already embraced TREAT include KuCoin, Gate.io, Bitget, MEXC Exchange, and more. To celebrate the launch, three of those have also unveiled a special airdrop to users.

LUCIEShibarium’s Marketing Strategistexplained in detail how people can claim TREAT tokens. First, they need to create a Bitget, KuCoin, or Gate.io account. Second, they should visit Shiba Inu’s official website, provide a user ID, and deposit the designated address. Once those details are submitted, the accounts will be whitelisted and “ready to receive TREAT tokens.”

“Follow these steps carefully and always use official platforms. Shib is dedicated to maintaining a secure environment – stick to the trusted process and avoid shortcuts,” LUCIE added.

Gate.io has promised to distribute 1,000,000 TREAT, KuCoin will airdrop 3,000,000 coins, while Bitget users will split 87,450,000 tokens.

Stay Away From Scammers

Besides announcing the details behind the airdrops, LUCIE also warned people to remain cautious due to potential fraudulent schemes surrounding the launch. The X users advised users not to click on any links on X (formerly known as Twitter) or connect their wallets.

Earlier this month, Shibarium Trustwatch (an X account that aims to provide security) maintained that bad actors have used the ongoing excitement as an opportunity to offer fake TREAT services to unsuspecting victims:

“They are now using SHIB socials linked to their FAKE TREAT. Please don’t be misled by these predatory scammers. They can be called vultures, circling and looking for their next feed. We ask with heaven on our side, please do not fall for these scams.

Be clear: the TREAT launch is scheduled for the 14th of January 2025, not before. If you are unsure about anything at any time, check with us first. Stay safe, SHIBARMY.”
