🔓 Token unlocks were back in focus this week. Starknet’s published schedule released about 127.1M STRK on 15 October, while roughly 92.6M ARB became available under Arbitrum’s vesting schedule on 16 October.

⚠️ But here’s the important part: unlocked does not mean sold.

📊 A vesting schedule tells you when previously restricted tokens become available and who receives them. It cannot tell you whether investors, team members or contributors will hold, stake, transfer or sell them.

💡 That’s why a token unlock can increase potential circulating supply without creating the same amount of immediate selling pressure. Exchange flows, liquidity and holder behaviour matter too.

₿ Bitcoin had another volatile week, trading largely around the low-$80,000s. Then US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $526.6M in net inflows on 19 October, their strongest daily result in nearly a month.

🏛️ Crypto regulation was busy in Washington. The comment period on US Treasury rules implementing parts of the GENIUS Act closed on 19 October, while comments on the SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets framework were due on 20 October.

⚡ And today is a major date for Solana. The Alpenglow consensus upgrade is scheduled to activate on mainnet on 21 October, targeting finality of roughly 150 milliseconds, versus about 12.8 seconds previously.

👀 Fun fact: 150 milliseconds is roughly in blink-of-an-eye territory. Blockchain finality may soon be measured in the time it takes you to blink.

🧠 NordFX takeaway: An unlock calendar tells you when the door opens — not whether anyone walks through it.

Watch vesting + exchange flows + liquidity + holder behaviour, rather than treating every unlock as an automatic sell signal.
