SFx Money App Relaunches Naira Accounts and Integrates TRON TRC20 Network to Tap Africa’s Stablecoin Boom— Crypto Africa

SFx Money App officially restored dedicated personal Naira bank account numbers and added TRON (TRC20) USDT support on October 2.Nigeria, Africa’s largest crypto market, generated over $92B in on-chain volume and commands 60% of Sub-Saharan Africa’s stablecoin inflows.Unifying local NGN banking rails with TRON’s $2T USDT network addresses the heavy retail demand for frictionless fiat-to-crypto settlements while avoiding P2P desk slippage.

African fintech provider SFx Money App officially relaunched its personal Naira Account feature and integrated Tether (USDT) support on the TRON (TRC20) blockchain network on October 2.

The dual update marks a strategic move to bridge local African banking rails with digital asset infrastructure, aiming to provide a single interface for fiat deposits, local settlements, and cross-border stablecoin transactions.

What SFx launched

SFx originally launched personal naira accounts issued in users’ names in June 2026. However, the platform temporarily pulled the feature to carry out internal upgrades.

The primary upgrade gives eligible SFx users dedicated personal Naira account numbers. This enables them to receive direct local NGN bank transfers straight to their SFx account. Alongside this feature, SFx also integrated the TRON network for USDT, expanding an existing multichain setup that already includes Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche and Optimism.

The relaunch also follows a long outage after services on the platform were disrupted between April 1 and May 20, following damage to AWS infrastructure in Bahrain.

Why Sfx’s Move May Be A Smart Move

Nigeria is Africa’s largest crypto market, and stablecoins make up a significant share of its volume.

Chainalysis’s recent crypto adoption index ranked Nigeria at number 3 globally for grassroots crypto adoption. Nigeria also ranked number 1 for cross-border flows. Between July 2024 and June 2025, Nigeria recorded over $92 billion in on-chain crypto transactions.

The IMF reports that Nigeria has accounted for an estimated 60% of all stablecoin inflows to sub-Saharan Africa since 2019. According to Yellowcard, stablecoins account for 43% of total crypto transaction volume in Sub-Saharan Africa. Between July 2023 and June 2024, Nigeria alone processed almost $22 billion in stablecoin transfers, and USDT remains the dominant stablecoin in the country’s market.

Globally, the Tron (TRC20) network processed roughly $2 trillion in USDT transactions in the first quarter of 2026, second only to Ethereum’s $2.2 trillion. Meanwhile, TRON now holds more USDT than any other blockchain.

SFx describes the introduction of local naira accounts and TRC20 USDT settlements as “building for the reality of how Africans actually move money,” which it says now occurs across borders, currencies, and often between traditional finance and digital assets.

It also says it responded to customers’ requests to make the experience more seamless. “Our users have been asking us to make these experiences easier, and we’ve been listening. Whether you’re a Nigerian receiving local payments, a student managing money across countries, or a crypto user who needs access to USDT on TRC20, you should not have to juggle multiple platforms just to manage your own money.”

Earlier this year, SFx reported processing over $6.5 million in on-chain transaction volume with Nigeria, the continent’s largest crypto and stablecoin market, accounting for 60% of that volume. This upgrade now provides a smoother way for its largest customer base to move stablecoin through a widely used network.

Why This Matters

In a market where digital dollars have become essential for capital preservation and international settlement, unifying Naira accounts with Sub-Saharan Africa’s dominant stablecoin network directly mirrors real-world user behaviour.

It also positions SFx as a single, comprehensive financial gateway for the region’s booming digital economy.
