The world\u2019s largest crypto exchange\u00a0<\/span>has warned\u00a0<\/a>that fraudsters pose as Binance Business Development (BD) employees, official \u201clisting agents,\u201d or intermediaries claiming to guarantee a free listing on the platform<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSuch claims are a scam \u2013 listings <\/span>are never guaranteed<\/span> and Binance evaluates every project on its merits and takes into account factors such as community demand, market conditions, compliance, project viability, business model sustainability, and others,\u201d the company stressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Binance reminded that it does not accept or recognize third-party individuals or agencies to apply for a listing or negotiate on a project\u2019s behalf. The exchange engages with such entities directly, and if there is an intermediary in the process, the application <\/span>is immediately disqualified<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the company does not charge a so-called \u201clisting fee\u201d and aims to embrace promising projects to meet user demand.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, to ensure project commitment for user protection and to support marketing initiatives for our users\u2019 benefits, we have structured agreements that include budget allocations for airdrops and other marketing campaigns to users,\u201d it added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last but not least, Binance advised users to verify official communications channels and personnel. <\/span>Every client can <\/span>check<\/span> the identity of dubious individuals by entering a URL, email address, phone number, Telegram handle, or social media account on the <\/span>verification portal<\/span> Binance Verify.<\/span> Reporting any suspicious activity is also a must since it helps the company to raise the alarm to the entire community.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Previous Alert<\/span><\/h2>\n

Last month, the exchange <\/span>warned<\/span><\/a> that scammers pretending to be part of the customer support service may call Binance users and urge them to change their API (application programming interface) settings due to alleged security updates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Needless to say, this is just a trick, and anyone following the fraudsters\u2019 guidance risks having their funds wiped out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Richard Teng<\/span> \u2013 <\/span>Binance\u2019s CEO<\/span> \u2013 <\/span>also touched upon the scam.<\/span> He <\/span>said<\/span><\/a> the exchange will never ask its users about their passwords or credentials over the phone, warning them to stay vigilant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
