Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says Bitcoin could hit $1 million by 2030 as he cites US regulation, institutional demand and shrinking risks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While on the \u2018Cheeky Pint\u2019 Podcast on 20 August 2025, <\/span>Armstrong said,<\/span><\/a> \u201cThe rough idea I have in my head is, we\u2019ll see a million dollar Bitcoin by 2030 and there\u2019s high error bars around these things. To give you a couple of data points -we\u2019re starting to see regulatory clarity emerge in the US, which I think is a bellwether for the rest of the G20. You have The GENIUS Act passed for stablecoins. This market structure bill is being debated in the Senate \u2013 fingers crossed something could happen by the end of this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Coinbase CEO, eventually as stocks get tokenized and people will want to get a loan, they\u2019ll use crypto without even really knowing it. \u201cIt\u2019s like they may not know how electricity works, but they can turn on a light switch,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Jack Dorsey and Cathie Wood have both floated $1 million or higher by 2030, market voices including Anthony Scaramucci suggested shorter-term upside into the $180,000-$200,000 range within months. <\/span><\/p>\n

I think we’ll see $1M per bitcoin by 2030.<\/p>\n

Regulatory clarity is finally emerging, the US government is keeping a BTC reserve, there’s a growing interest for crypto ETFs, among many other factors.<\/p>\n

\u201cBitcoin Will Eventually Be Bigger Than Gold\u201d<\/h2>\n

\u201cBitcoin has a store of value that\u2019s inflation-resistant,\u201d said Armstrong. \u201cIt\u2019s not to be underestimated. That\u2019s also a $20 trillion opportunity with gold as a comparable\u2014but better than gold.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Armstrong insisted that Bitcoin will \u201ceventually be bigger than gold.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf that\u2019s all crypto ever was, that\u2019s already enormous,\u201d he said. \u201cBut we\u2019re starting to see borrowing and lending, capital formation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Armstrong also highlighted a sovereign engagement and a US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve as signs that existential risks to Bitcoin are receding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCongress is really good at doing two things \u2013 nothing and overreacting in moments of crisis\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After trying to make progress in DC and after trying to advocate for legislation, Armstrong said he realized that \u201cit\u2019s kind of rare for Congress to act.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe realized that a certain point we had to generate a political will to do this and we had 50 million people in the US who had used crypto. We said, \u201cLet\u2019s try to get them organized.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

We got 2 million of these folks in the US to raise their hand and say they wanted to elect pro-crypto candidates. I remember I was talking to our policy team and I said, \u201clet\u2019s put a scorecard A to F of every politician in this upcoming election ( last November.)\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
