They\u2019re <strong>Web3\u2019s wall of\u00a0fog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Behind every piece of jargon is an assumption:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The user should know what this\u00a0means.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But most don\u2019t. And they shouldn\u2019t have\u00a0to.<\/p>\n<h4>Language Is a Filter, Not a\u00a0Feature<\/h4>\n<p>Jargon is how we signal tribe. It\u2019s how devs talk to devs, founders talk to VCs, and insiders talk to themselves. It\u2019s also why most dApps feel like they weren\u2019t built for <em>you<\/em>\u200a\u2014\u200abut for a version of <em>you<\/em> that read a glossary before onboarding.<\/p>\n<h4>Words Should Invite, Not Intimidate<\/h4>\n<p>Let\u2019s compare<\/p>\n<p>No information was lost. But clarity was gained\u200a\u2014\u200a<strong>because someone bothered to translate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>The Myth of Educated\u00a0Users<\/h3>\n<p>You often\u00a0hear:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019re building for power users.\u201d<br \/>\u201cOur audience <\/em>already<em>\u00a0knows.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But Web3 has no <em>final<\/em> user. People evolve from beginner to advanced <strong>inside<\/strong> your product\u200a\u2014\u200aif you let them. The right design doesn\u2019t dumb things down. It creates <strong>on-ramps<\/strong>, not\u00a0tests.<\/p>\n<h4>Style Sheets of\u00a0Status<\/h4>\n<p>There\u2019s an aesthetic to insider lingo\u200a\u2014\u200alike naming a button \u201cBond\u201d instead of \u201cDeposit &amp;\u00a0Lock\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But design isn\u2019t where you prove how deep in the rabbit hole you are. It\u2019s where you <strong>bring others down with you<\/strong>, safely. Good interface culture doesn\u2019t posture. It patiently <strong>codes context into\u00a0copy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>What If Jargon Was Optional?<\/h4>\n<p>Imagine a UI that let\u00a0you:<\/p>\n<p>Switch between <em>basic<\/em> and <em>advanced<\/em>\u00a0copyHover to see human-friendly versions of crypto\u00a0termsGet plain language prompts before committing to an\u00a0action<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t dumbing down. This is choosing <strong>language that opens doors<\/strong> instead of building\u00a0walls.<\/p>\n<h4>Words Are Interfaces Too<\/h4>\n<p>The next 100 million users won\u2019t come through wallet extensions or airdrops.
