One person sharing that thesis is the social media influencer John Squire. He recently took it to X to tell his over 500,000 followers what can trigger such a price explosion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He <\/span>started<\/span><\/a> with the obvious obstacle (according to many industry participants): the market cap of around $10 trillion, which XRP needs to hit to reach that peak.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMarket cap ain\u2019t a wall<\/span>, it\u2019s<\/span> just price \u00d7 supply. It doesn\u2019t measure real money, liquidity, or demand. Saying XRP can\u2019t moon because of market cap is like saying no one can afford a Ferrari because the average salary is low,\u201d he argued.<\/span><\/p>\n

Squire believes XRP has \u201ca secret weapon:\u201d liquidity. He suggested that small capital inflows can lead to \u201cbig explosions,\u201d describing this as \u201cpure leverage on steroids.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The social media influencer further claimed that only 5% of XRP\u2019s supply <\/span>is actively traded<\/span>, saying the rest is locked or <\/span>being held<\/span> by investors:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo when demand kicks in\u2026 supply dries up, and (the) price goes wild.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting, though, that XRP\u2019s supply expands monthly as the entity behind it unlocks a billion tokens on the first day of each month. This process has been pre-programmed and rarely has an immediate impact on the asset\u2019s price, but such large amounts increase its inflation in the long term.<\/p>\n

Later, he moved on to XRP\u2019s use cases, stating that the asset is not a meme coin and <\/span>is built<\/span> to move money across borders. Squire opined that some banks and institutions have already included the token in their operations, and \u201cthe more they use it, the more demand grows.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He highlighted the expansion of XRP\u2019s ecosystem, which now includes EVM-compatible sidechains and DeFi components. He foresaw that the potential approval of XPR ETFs, global adoption, and \u201csome well-timed FOMO\u201d could make the $100 target seem possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not long ago, the British bank Standard Chartered reportedly <\/span>highlighted<\/span><\/a> the asset\u2019s growth following Trump\u2019s election win, forecasting that it could climb to $5.50 by year\u2019s end and hit $12.50 by late 2028 (just before his presidential term finishes). The institution believes the potential approval of XRP ETFs under the <\/span>Republican\u2019s<\/span> administration could <\/span>serve as<\/span> a key driver for this rise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grayscale<\/a>, Bitwise, 21Shares, Franklin Templeton, and others are among the prominent names racing to become the first to launch a spot XRP exchange-traded fund in America.
