The second-largest meme coin in <\/span>terms of<\/span> market capitalization \u2013 Shiba Inu (SHIB) \u2013 has emerged into a complex ecosystem in the past few years<\/span>, while<\/span> its community has reached multi-million members. However, some newcomers have little-to-no experience with the crypto world, making them perfect prey for fraudsters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier today (March 26), the team behind Shibarium Trustwatch <\/span>warned<\/span><\/a> people that scammers have created fake profiles on X to deceive with \u201cpromises of giveaways, exclusive content, or investment opportunities.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The team revealed that LUCIE \u2013 the pseudonymous marketing strategist of Shibarium \u2013 is among the targets, with wrongdoers mimicking their X account. However, a quick look shows that the number of followers is 0, meaning people should have serious doubts. <\/span>In comparison,<\/span> LUCIE\u2019s official account on X has more than 165,000 subscribers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shibarium Trustwatch advised the SHIB Army to check for verification badges and trusted announcements to protect themselves. <\/span>It also urged people never to click on suspicious links or share personal details online and to report and block fraudulent accounts <\/span>immediately<\/span> to safeguard the entire community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The team issued a similar warning nearly a month ago. Back then, Shibarium Trustwatch <\/span>cautioned<\/span><\/a> users to stay away from a fake X account pretending to be the official one of the meme coin project.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis account is NOT official. Always verify the handle and followers. Stay safe! Stay vigilant,\u201d the message reads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Towards the end of last year, the team <\/span>claimed<\/span><\/a> that\u00a0malicious actors had misused the name of Shytoshi Kusama \u2013 the former lead developer behind Shiba Inu \u2013 to advertise fake tokens in fraudulent online groups. The community <\/span>is urged<\/span> to avoid interacting with these deceptive individuals and to refrain from sharing any personal details.<\/span><\/p>\n
