Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has revealed that he was <\/span>completely<\/span> unaware of US President Donald Trump\u2019s decision to include ADA, Cardano\u2019s native token, in a proposed crypto reserve. According to Hoskinson, he only learned about it on the <\/span>day of the announcement<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew nothing about ADA <\/span>being selected<\/span> for the reserve. It was news to me,\u201d Hoskinson <\/span>stated in a video on 5 March 2025<\/span><\/a>. He recalled waking up on 2 March to a flood of congratulatory messages, only to be left confused. \u201cI had no idea what <\/span>the heck<\/span> was going on,\u201d he admitted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoskinson further explained that neither he nor his team had any prior discussions with officials about Cardano\u2019s inclusion. \u201cNobody even talked to us about it,\u201d he said, adding that previous efforts to engage with policymakers <\/span>were often met<\/span> with vague responses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump unveiled his crypto reserve proposal on March 2, stating that it would \u201cobviously\u201d contain Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) but also sparked debate by including XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA).<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the announcement, ADA surged 76% within hours, jumping from $0.647 to $1.14, before plummeting 30% the next day.
