Ethereum (ETH) \u2013 the second-largest cryptocurrency in <\/span>terms of<\/span> market capitalization \u2013 is among the <\/span>very<\/span> few leading digital assets that have not charted impressive gains during the bull cycle in the past several months.<\/span> It <\/span>currently<\/span> trades at less than $2,800, representing a 24% decline on a 30-day scale.

And while many industry participants believe the asset has yet to catch up with Bitcoin (BTC) and the rest of the market, some are <\/span>quite<\/span> pessimistic. The popular X user Nebrascangooner recently claimed that the \u201cpotential cup and handle pattern\u201d witnessed on ETH\u2019s price chart is no longer valid.<\/span><\/p>\n

The analyst <\/span>suggested<\/span><\/a> that the valuation formed a double top in the past year, envisioning a collapse to as low as $1,200 if it loses the $2,400 support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo breakdown currently, though, and it\u2019s sideways in a large consolidation,\u201d they added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bullish Scenario<\/span><\/h2>\n

As mentioned above, <\/span>the majority of<\/span> analysts on X remain optimistic that ETH will hit a new all-time high in the following months. The one using the X moniker MANDO CT <\/span>thinks<\/span><\/a> the long-awaited rally of the asset \u201cis about to happen,\u201d setting a target of $10,000 per coin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael van de Poppe also chipped in, saying that if Donald Trump \u201cbets massively on ETH, it\u2019s almost foolish not to follow that route at these valuations.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To the uninitiated ones, World Liberty Financial (WLF) \u2013 a DeFi project linked to Donald Trump and his family \u2013 has recently <\/span>made<\/span><\/a> significant investments<\/span> in Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. Additionally, Eric Trump, the son of the American president, <\/span>claimed<\/span><\/a> that now is \u201ca great time to add ETH.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some key on-chain metrics also signal that the <\/span>price of the asset<\/span> might be on the verge of a rally. <\/span>According<\/span><\/a> to CryptoQuant, ETH\u2019s exchange <\/span>netflow<\/span> has been negative in the past three days.<\/span> This<\/span> suggests a potential shift from centralized platforms toward self-custody methods, <\/span>which in turn reduces<\/span> the immediate selling pressure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
