Ethereum (ETH) remains the second-largest cryptocurrency in <\/span>terms of<\/span> market capitalization, but throughout this bull cycle, it has failed (so far) to impress the community. <\/span>And while<\/span> Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL), and many <\/span>more<\/span> have recently reached record price peaks, ETH is still in red territory on a monthly scale.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the asset witnessed a substantial resurgence in the past 24 hours, and some industry participants took this as a sign that a <\/span>major<\/span> rally could be just around the corner. According to CoinGecko\u2019s data, ETH currently trades at approximately $3,400, representing a 6% increase on a daily scale.

One of the optimists is the X user CRYPTOWZRD. The analyst <\/span>believes<\/span><\/a> a breakout above the $3,550 resistance level could push ETH to $4,000 <\/span>and beyond<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According<\/span><\/a> to Cold Blooded Shiller, the cryptocurrency is attempting to \u201cform a new trend from here,\u201d envisioning a potential spike to a new all-time high of $5,000 <\/span>by March this year<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CrediBULL Crypto outlined even more bullish forecasts<\/span>. The former cited ETH\u2019s HTF PA (High Time Frame Price Action) to <\/span>assume<\/span><\/a> that the asset could <\/span>be poised<\/span> for a <\/span>major<\/span> comeback <\/span>in the near future<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cETH is going to come back with a vengeance in the coming months, and ironically enough, it <\/span>seems <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> going to<\/span> leave some of its strongest supporters behind.<\/span> 10k is a bare minimum once we break out, <\/span>imo<\/span>,<\/span> and <\/span>I think<\/span> 20k <\/span>is<\/span> certainly not unreasonable by the end of the cycle<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Why is ETH Pumping?<\/span><\/h2>\n

One obvious factor that has potentially contributed to the asset\u2019s positive performance in the last 24 hours is the overall resurgence of the crypto sector. Bitcoin (BTC) and many of its leaders are all in the green today (January 24), while the industry\u2019s global market capitalization has soared to almost $3.8 trillion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another reason could be World Liberty Financial\u2019s decision to increase <\/span>its<\/span> holdings. Most recently, the DeFi platform, which has ties to US President Donald Trump and his family, <\/span>purchased<\/span><\/a> 3,079 ETH. Its total Ethereum possessions reached 74,228 tokens (valued at over $250 million at current rates).<\/span><\/p>\n

Last but not least, we should mention that Trump\u00a0<\/span>signed<\/span><\/a> an executive order to review the creation of a \u201cNational Digital Asset Stockpile.\u201d Initially, he intended to establish a strategic Bitcoin (BTC) reserve in the US, but the initiative\u2019s scope seems to have\u00a0expanded to other cryptocurrencies, too.<\/span><\/p>\n
