\u201cIf you had any doubt that 2024 was a massive inflection point for crypto, this year\u2019s Bitwise\/VettaFi survey dispels it,\u201d said Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan. \u201cAdvisors are awakening to crypto\u2019s potential like never before, and they\u2019re allocating like never before<\/p>\n\n

Crypto Allocations Among Financial Advisors Doubled Year-on-Year<\/h2>\n

The annual \u201cBitwise\/VettaFi 2025 Benchmark Survey of Financial Advisor Attitudes Toward Crypto Assets\u201d released on 9 January 2025. It surveyed over 430 financial advisors across the US. <\/span>The results reveal a dramatic transformation in how advisors perceive cryptocurrencies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Crypto allocations among advisors doubled year-over-year. It rose from 11% in 2023 to 22% in 2024\u2014a record high for the survey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, an overwhelming 96% of advisors reported receiving inquiries about cryptocurrencies from clients in the past year, marking an all-time high for client interest. <\/span>Among advisors already allocating to crypto, 99% plan to maintain or increase their exposure in 2025. <\/span>For advisors who have not yet invested in crypto, 19% are considering doing so this year\u2014more than double the previous year\u2019s figure of 8%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the findings of the research, Todd Rosenbluth, Head of Research for TMX VettaFi said, \u201cBased on the latest data, the future is very bright as advisors and investors gain more access and education about the potential benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen choosing bitcoin ETFs, advisors prize expertise\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Among the most important features when choosing a bitcoin ETF, expense ratio ranked highest at 58%.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, when it comes to ETFs, the importance advisors place on subject matter expertise among asset managers in a specialized industry like crypto is high.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen asked what crypto exposure they were most interested in allocating to in 2025, crypto equity ETFs were the favorite among advisors,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, 71% of advisors said \u201csome\u201d or \u201call\u201d of their clients were investing in crypto on their own.<\/p>\n

With over half of financial advisors now open to investing in digital assets\u2014and client demand at an all-time high\u2014the stage is set for broader integration into traditional financial systems.<\/span><\/p>\n
