Cryptocurrency analytics platform Santiment recently <\/span>estimated<\/span><\/a> that Internet Computer (ICP) ranked first in terms of \u201cnotable development activity\u201d in the past month, collecting a score of 409.63. <\/span><\/p>\n

The asset started December on the right foot, with its price jumping to a multi-month high of over $15. However, the latest market correction negatively affected ICP, which plummeted below $10 (per CoinGecko\u2019s data).

Chainlink (LINK) claimed the second spot with a ratio of 287.07, while Hedera (HBAR) ranked third. It is interesting to note that the top 3 <\/span>club<\/span> looked <\/span>exactly<\/span> the same after the previous research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starknet (STRK) climbed the ladder and was positioned in fourth place, while Cardano (ADA) lost some steam and is now fifth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Similar to ICP and many other cryptocurrencies, ADA was at the forefront of gains in the first week of the month. On December 7, its price touched $1.30 (a level last observed at the start of 2022). The peak was short-lived, though, with ADA currently trading at around $0.84.<\/span><\/p>\n

The other digital assets down the line include Optimism (OP), Polkadot (DOT), Kusama (KSM), DeFiChain (DFI), and <\/span>sUSD<\/span> (SUSD).<\/span><\/p>\n

Santiment\u2019s Methodology\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

To conduct the <\/span>aforementioned research<\/span>, the platform\u2019s team employs the <\/span>so-called<\/span> Ecosystem Dev Activity Dashboard, which shows the number of development events created on various blockchains and their associated dApps.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese events are carefully filtered and predefined to\u00a0<\/span>be representative of<\/span> real programming progress, meaning no low-value actions\u00a0<\/span>are\u00a0<\/span>taken<\/span> into consideration<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>This way, any crypto-curious person can easily see\u00a0<\/span>which are<\/span> the most active\u00a0<\/span>crypto ecosystems<\/span> out there,\u201d the working group explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team emphasized the importance of <\/span>the size of<\/span> a project\u2019s community, particularly focusing on <\/span>how many members<\/span> are developers and actively <\/span>contributing<\/span> to the ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, Santiment clarified that development activity differs from GitHub activity. The former focuses on specific types of events, excluding things like commits, forks, comments, and project management tasks. In contrast, GitHub <\/span>is comprised<\/span> of all kinds of factors apart from commits.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOne key distinction between Dev Activity\u00a0and\u00a0GitHub Activity is that Dev Activity allows for a fairer comparison between different organizations.\u00a0<\/span>This<\/span> is because some events excluded in Dev Activity are related to Issues and Issue Comments,\u201d Santiment\u2019s team concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n
