Bitcoin (BTC)<\/strong> just broke $100,000 for the first time in\u00a0history.<\/p>\n

What a milestone\u200a\u2014\u200aand a huge congratulations to everyone who held on during the inevitable rocky\u00a0times.<\/p>\n

I think we\u2019re just getting started. As I\u2019ve said, I believe bitcoin can reach $250,000 within the next 12 months<\/a> thanks in large part to the results of the 2024 election.<\/p>\n

In short, the entire crypto industry was like a beach ball held underwater. Crypto innovation was frozen by hostile regulations. But that\u2019s all changed\u00a0now.<\/p>\n

All that pent-up energy\u200a\u2014\u200athe ideas, the money, the talent\u200a\u2014\u200ais surging to the\u00a0surface.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin will continue to thrive as the world\u2019s largest crypto, now sitting at a market cap of roughly $2 trillion (and back just below $100K, for the\u00a0moment).<\/p>\n

Today, we answer the big question: What\u2019s the big crypto opportunity in\u00a02025?<\/p>\n

In Abu Dhabi recently, a building manager asked me: <\/strong>\u201cDo you own bitcoin?\u201d<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve had this exact conversation with taxi drivers in Singapore, doormen in Dubai, and waiters in Nashville. No one asks about Microsoft\u2019s (MSFT)<\/a> latest earnings or JPMorgan\u2019s (JPM) dividend.<\/p>\n

Young investors I talk with often own more crypto than stocks. Think about that. The next generation of investors is the first to fully embrace digital assets. Where do you think their next dollar will go as their wealth grows, and the industry\u00a0grows?<\/p>\n

Bitcoin is the \u201cOG\u201d\u2026 and still the most popular crypto on the planet, by\u00a0far.<\/p>\n

But at its core, bitcoin can be summed up in two\u00a0words:<\/p>\n

Digital cash.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin was the first use of blockchain technology, which allows anyone to send and receive money on the internet\u2026 without worry\u2026 and without banks or any other financial middlemen\u2026 for the first time\u00a0ever.<\/p>\n

But bitcoin was only the first use of this incredible new technology. And bitcoin\u2019s blockchain is pretty much used for one thing: keeping track of who owns\u00a0bitcoin.<\/p>\n

Now we have Ethereum (ETH)<\/strong><\/a> and Solana (SOL)<\/strong>,<\/a> platforms where anyone can create and launch \u201capps.\u201d Think about how the App Store works on your iPhone. You can download thousands of apps for just about everything.<\/p>\n

Ethereum and Solana are blockchain app stores. And the only limits to what developers can build on them is their imaginations.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s where the real opportunity lies in\u00a02025\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Without getting political, Trump is far more pro-crypto than the current administration.<\/p>\n

He plans to end the regulatory crackdown against crypto and encourage bitcoin mining in America. And he just picked pro-crypto Paul Atkins for SEC chair, who\u2019s set to replace hostile Gary\u00a0Gensler.<\/p>\n

Just last night, Trump named David Sachs\u200a\u2014\u200aa Silicon Valley investor and outspoken supporter of crypto\u200a\u2014\u200ato the newly created position of artificial intelligence and crypto \u201cczar.\u201d His job description: make America the clear global leader in both\u00a0areas.<\/p>\n

Although bitcoin is soaring to new highs, the real opportunity lies in the coming explosion of great crypto businesses<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

It all comes down to this: When you\u2019re buying crypto, what are you\u00a0getting?<\/p>\n

When you buy Microsoft shares, you legally own a piece of the business. You\u2019re also entitled to a slice of the profits Microsoft generates.<\/p>\n

When you buy a bond, you get a promise that the company will pay you interest plus the principal back.<\/p>\n

But crypto has been forced to operate differently. To avoid being labeled an \u201cillegal security\u201d by the SEC, crypto projects couldn\u2019t give their tokens real ownership rights.<\/p>\n

This led to many crypto founders purposefully designing tokens with no value accrual, or no path to accrue value. I dig into great protocols with real-world uses all the time. But many of them are uninvestable due to awful \u201ctokenomics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Expect Congress to pass pro-crypto legislation early next\u00a0year.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This will be a gamechanger for tokenomics\u200a\u2014\u200aone of the most important drivers of a crypto\u2019s price\u200a\u2014\u200aand open up a new set of opportunities for investors.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the House approved a piece of legislation that achieves this: the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act\u00a0(FIT21).<\/p>\n

Now that Republicans also control the Senate, expect this bill to get signed into law in the first half of 2025. Think of this as crypto\u2019s legalization day.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the moment Wall Street will come steaming into crypto\u200a\u2014\u200aand the moment investors get the same ownership rights as they have in the stock\u00a0market.<\/p>\n

Great crypto businesses can now be built in the open, without fear. And for the first time, investors can participate in their successes the same way they do with\u00a0stocks.<\/p>\n

So, which crypto should you buy in\u00a02025?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I don\u2019t recommend bitcoin to my RiskHedge Venture<\/em><\/a>\u00a0members.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s digital cash. That\u2019s all it\u2019s ever going to be. It\u2019s good to own some bitcoin. But it\u2019s not the best crypto if you\u2019re targeting fast\u00a0growth.<\/p>\n

My top two favorite large cryptos are still Ethereum<\/a> and\u00a0Solana<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But our Venture <\/em>portfolio<\/a> is full of tiny, lesser-known crypto businesses with much more upside. The opportunity is unfolding fast. Our portfolio already has close to nine triple-digit winners, including Hivemapper (HONEY)<\/strong>\u200a<\/a>\u2014\u200aup 813%. Hivemapper remains one of my top buys for\u00a02025.<\/p>\n
