Peter Todd has joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mara.com\/posts\/mara-at-bitcoin-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MARA Foundation<\/a> as lead maintainer of Slipstream, the miner\u2019s private Bitcoin mempool service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Announced by the foundation on Thursday, the new role will see Todd responsible for developing and running the service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/slipstream.mara.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slipstream<\/a> lets users send bitcoin transactions straight to MARA Pool, the company\u2019s mining pool, without going through Bitcoin\u2019s public peer-to-peer network. It was useful after hackers exploited Coldcard hardware wallets in July, stealing over $115 million in user funds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because transactions sent through Slipstream stay private until they\u2019re confirmed in a block, the service helps to keep key information hidden before confirmation \u2014 protecting exposure of their public keys.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI most look forward to seeing what\u2019s possible on Bitcoin \u2014 using Slipstream as a proving ground for experimental development and protocol innovation,\u201d Todd said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MARA\u2019s Slipstream first drew attention in 2024 for publishing large <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/glossary\/bitcoin-ordinals\">Ordinals<\/a> inscriptions.
