As a precaution, we are temporarily shutting down our servers while we investigate and secure our infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, we believe they may have accessed customer email addresses, Bitcoin\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014  Swiss Bitcoin Pay (@SwissBitcoinPay) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SwissBitcoinPay\/status\/2099473448162488618?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 14, 2026<\/a>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement comes amid a run of breaches hitting bitcoin and fintech firms. Revolut <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/maxkarpis\/status\/2099473028027490670\">confirmed<\/a> last week that it handed customer passports, driver\u2019s licenses, verification selfies and transaction histories to an unauthorized party that sent fraudulent requests from a legitimate government agency\u2019s email domain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And top hardware wallet manufacturer Trezor last week <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/news\/trezor-reveals-another-data-breach\">warned<\/a> that a data breach at the third-party marketing platform it uses for sending newsletters was leading criminals to target customers with phishing attacks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA malicious user has likely gained access to Swiss Bitcoin Pay\u2019s internal systems \u2026As a precaution, we are temporarily shutting down our servers while we investigate and secure our infrastructure.\u201d Swiss Bitcoin Pay said on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company added that; \u201cUser funds are safe, and any amounts owed to users will be fully returned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Swiss Bitcoin Pay did not immediately respond to Bitcoin Magazine\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company lets businesses accept Bitcoin payments quickly and easily using both on-chain transactions and the Lightning Network.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Criminals have increasingly been targeting data in 2026.
