According to a <\/span>Wall Street Journal<\/span><\/a><\/em> report<\/span><\/a> on <\/span>November 18<\/span>, the meeting will focus on personnel appointments and potential collaborations with the crypto industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Armstrong has not <\/span>been publicly linked<\/span> to Trump\u2019s 2024 campaign through direct donations or contributions to political action committees supporting the Republican candidate. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, <\/span>prior to<\/span> the election, he stated Coinbase <\/span>was prepared<\/span> to cooperate with a Trump administration if needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

While it remains uncertain whether Armstrong or other Coinbase representatives could take on roles within Trump\u2019s administration, the president-elect has hinted at initiatives that <\/span>would<\/span> directly involve the crypto sector. <\/span><\/p>\n

During the Bitcoin 2024 conference in July, Trump proposed creating a \u201cBitcoin and Crypto Presidential Advisory Council\u201d to establish clear regulatory guidelines for the industry within the first 100 days of his presidency.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the <\/span>November 6<\/span> election, Trump has announced several potential cabinet picks and even suggested bypassing Senate confirmation to expedite appointments in 2025. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, he has yet to disclose who might replace Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler, whom he pledged to remove on his first day in office.<\/span><\/p>\n
