MicroStrategy <\/span>seems to have<\/span> no limitations in <\/span>terms of<\/span> increasing its exposure to Bitcoin (BTC).<\/span> Most recently,<\/span> it acquired 51,780 BTC, equaling a staggering $4.6 billion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest purchase <\/span>was announced<\/span> by Michael Saylor himself \u2013 the former CEO of MicroStrategy who now serves as\u00a0Executive Chairman. He said <\/span>the stash was acquired<\/span> for an average <\/span>cost of<\/span> $88,627 per asset.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, the business intelligence software giant now holds <\/span>a total of<\/span> 331,200 BTC. Calculated at current rates, this represents a whopping $29.7 billion. The entire investment was acquired for around $16.5 billion, meaning the current paper profit represents <\/span>more than<\/span> $13 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n

MicroStrategy has become the <\/span>biggest<\/span> corporate holder of Bitcoin, integrating the cryptocurrency into its financial strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last week, it <\/span>unveiled<\/span><\/a> another huge BTC purchase equaling more than $2 billion<\/span>, <\/span>Prior<\/span> to<\/span> that, the company\u00a0<\/span>announced<\/span><\/a> plans to spend $42 billion over the next three years to add even more assets to its balance sheet.<\/span><\/p>\n

MicroStrategy started accumulating BTC in August 2020 when the valuation hovered around $11,000. Earlier this month, Donald Trump won<\/a> the US presidential elections, triggering a <\/span>major<\/span> bull run for the entire cryptocurrency market. In the aftermath, BTC\u2019s valuation <\/span>skyrocketed<\/span><\/a> to an all-time high of more than $93,000 on November 13, <\/span>currently<\/span> trading at roughly $90K.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
