{"id":206655,"date":"2026-07-30T21:00:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T21:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mycryptomania.com\/?p=206655"},"modified":"2026-07-30T21:00:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T21:00:08","slug":"bitcoin-treasury-strategy-posts-8-2b-loss-as-btc-price-suffered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mycryptomania.com\/?p=206655","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Treasury Strategy Posts $8.2B Loss As BTC Price Suffered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/\">Bitcoin Magazine<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/news\/bitcoin-treasury-strategy-posts-loss\">Bitcoin Treasury Strategy Posts $8.2B Loss As BTC Price Suffered<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin treasury company Strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/saylor\/status\/2082920028484018528\">reported<\/a> a loss of $8.22 billion for the second quarter of 2026 thanks to the falling price of the leading cryptocurrency.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its quarterly report, Nasdaq-listed Strategy (MSTR) \u2014 formerly MicroStrategy \u2014 put the loss down to the Bitcoin price crash, even as the company continued raising capital, buying more Bitcoin and paying down debt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the same period of 2025, Strategy reported a net income of $10.02 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn the second quarter of 2026, Strategy strengthened its balance sheet while navigating a meaningful Bitcoin price decline,\u201d Strategy CEO and President Phong Le said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chairman and the architect behind the software company\u2019s Bitcoin-buying masterplan, Michael Saylor, added: \u201cIn the midst of this phase of muted Bitcoin sentiment and market skepticism, we continue to evolve our business model and establish digital credit as a new asset class.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin\u2019s price is down nearly 50% from the all-time high of $126,080 it notched in October 2025. The leading cryptocurrency was recently priced at $64,745, down 26% year-to-date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the quarter, the Tysons, Virginia-based company said it increased its Bitcoin holdings by 11%. Strategy now holds 843,775 Bitcoins worth $54.6 billion at today\u2019s prices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Strategy for the past five weeks had <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/news\/strategy-skips-bitcoin-buy-again\">paused<\/a> its Bitcoin buys, instead focusing on putting more cash on its balance sheet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investors buy Strategy\u2019s stock to get leveraged exposure to Bitcoin.
