There is no public country-by-country breakdown that proves Japan is Ripple\u2019s largest market by revenue or transaction volume\u200a\u2014\u200astill, few markets combine such a long partnership history, local financial backing, regulatory progress and real payment use\u00a0cases.<\/em><\/p>\n

A Partnership Built Over a\u00a0Decade<\/h3>\n

Ripple\u2019s position in Japan did not begin with the latest $XRP\u00a0rally.<\/p>\n

In 2016, Ripple and SBI Holdings created SBI Ripple Asia<\/a> to develop blockchain-based payment infrastructure in Japan and other Asian markets. Since then, SBI has become much more than a local partner: it is also a Ripple shareholder and one of the company\u2019s most active supporters in the financial sector.<\/p>\n
