The charges include conspiracy to commit securities fraud and violations of campaign finance laws. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He faced a maximum sentence of 75 years in prison. However, Judge Lewis Kaplan acknowledged Singh\u2019s cooperation with authorities. He acknowledged that he did not expect forgiveness. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He emphasized that assisting in the government\u2019s investigation had given him a sense of purpose. Just <\/span><span>prior to<\/span><span> his hearing, Singh was seen pacing <\/span><span>nervously<\/span><span>, rehearsing his statement from a single printed page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>FTX\u2019s downfall began in November 2022 when the exchange <\/span><span>was unable to<\/span><span> meet customer withdrawal demands. This lead to allegations of $8 billion in stolen client funds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison in March2024. He was <\/span><span>also<\/span><span> ordered to forfeit $11 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Andrew Goldstein, Singh\u2019s attorney and a former assistant US attorney, argued that Singh became involved in FTX\u2019s wrongdoing late in the game. He highlighted Singh\u2019s extensive cooperation with investigators, including his testimony at Bankman-Fried\u2019s trial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Andrew D.
