The battle for Massachusetts, for instance, features Republican candidate John Deaton (who represents thousands of XRP investors in Ripple\u2019s lawsuit against the US SEC) versus the incumbent Senator from the Democratic party, Elizabeth Warren.<\/span><\/p>\n

Somewhat <\/span>expectedly<\/span>, the pro-XRP attorney received support from some notable names in the cryptocurrency industry. <\/span><\/p>\n

One example is Brian Armstrong (CEO of Coinbase), who <\/span>urged<\/span><\/a> Massachusetts residents to vote for Deaton. He reminded that Senator Warren has shown an anti-crypto stance in the past years, claiming she was the one to help the SEC\u2019s Chairman Gary Gensler to spearhead the agency and \u201cencouraged him to (unlawfully) try and kill\u201d the digital asset industry in America.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interestingly, his statement <\/span>was highlighted<\/a><\/span> by one of the wealthiest and most influential people on the planet \u2013 Elon Musk. Tesla\u2019s CEO retweeted the post, reaping applause from pro-Ripple users.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoskinson\u2019s Support<\/span><\/h2>\n

Another well-known individual who cheers for Deaton in his contest against Senator Warren is Cardano\u2019s founder, Charles Hoskinson. Earlier in 2024, he <\/span>donated<\/span><\/a> the maximum amount to support his campaign, which, according to state laws, is $3,300.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe need people willing to take on the establishment against banks writing our laws and destroying the crypto industry,\u201d Hoskinson stated at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the backing from high-profile figures, national polls show that Deaton is the underdog, <\/span>collecting<\/span><\/a> around 33% of the votes. <\/span>Warren,<\/span> on the other hand, has a massive lead with current support of over 56%.<\/span><\/p>\n
