Binance\u2019s Ethereum reserves are sitting at their lowest point since 2020 \u2014 and that\u2019s just one piece of a much bigger picture. Across the board, Ethereum<\/a> held on exchanges has fallen to its lowest level since 2016, a shift driven by back-to-back withdrawals and a staking surge that is pulling coins deeper out of circulation.<\/p>\n

A Wave Of Withdrawals Across Major Platforms<\/h2>\n

On March 22, crypto analyst Amr Taha flagged a $1.67 billion ETH withdrawal<\/a> from OKX. Binance also recorded two separate outflows topping $300 million earlier in the quarter.<\/p>\n

Those moves didn\u2019t happen in isolation. Data from analyst Arab Chain show that roughly 31.6 million ETH left major exchanges in February alone \u2014 the biggest monthly outflow since November.<\/p>\n\n

Binance accounted for about 14.45 million ETH of that total, close to half. OKX followed with around 3.80 million ETH, and Kraken recorded roughly 1 million ETH during the same stretch.<\/p>\n

When coins leave exchanges at that pace, it matters. Sustained withdrawals shrink the pool of coins available for spot trading.<\/p>\n

Assets moved to private wallets or staking platforms tend to be less liquid in the near term, and thinner exchange balances can sharpen price swings when market activity picks up.<\/p>\n

Ethereum: Staking Reaches A Record High<\/h2>\n

The withdrawal story runs alongside a staking story, and together they paint a picture of tightening supply. About 38 million ETH is now locked in staking, equal to roughly 33% of total supply \u2014 the highest level on record.<\/p>\n

Staking infrastructure provider Everstake weighed in on what that means for the market. The company said that a steady drop in liquid supply, combined with ongoing demand, sets up conditions for a structurally firmer price floor.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not a short-term trade signal. It\u2019s a longer-term structural shift \u2014 one where a growing share of ETH is committed to the network rather than sitting ready to be sold.<\/p>\n

Analysts are watching what happens next on the price chart. Technical analyst Trader Tardigrade has identified a potential cup-and-handle pattern<\/a> forming on Ethereum\u2019s daily chart.<\/p>\n

A confirmed breakout would require ETH to clear the 50-day exponential moving average and key Fibonacci levels. Failing to do so could keep the token grinding sideways in its current range.<\/p>\n

Price Holds Near $2,181 As Momentum Builds<\/p>\n

As of March 25, ETH was trading near $2,181 with rising derivatives activity and improving momentum readings. Whether that\u2019s enough to trigger a move higher depends on demand catching up to the shrinking supply picture.<\/p>\n

Analysts say Ethereum remains in an accumulation phase and has not yet entered an established uptrend.<\/p>\n
