Wall Street traders have placed massive bets that Michael Saylor\u2019s company will crash. As of late February 2026, over 30 million MSTR shares are being sold short.<\/p>\n

Currently, Strategy has a massive amount of short interest, where roughly 11% to 14% of its available shares are sold short.<\/a> The \u201cdays to cover\u201d ratio is hovering around 2.2. Hence, it would take more than 2 full days of normal trading volume for all short sellers to close their positions. If a sudden rally hits, there simply isn\u2019t enough liquidity for everyone to get out cheaply. This is the classic recipe for a Short Squeeze.<\/p>\n

While a huge chunk of the market is betting on the price going down, Strategy isn\u2019t just a normal tech stock; it\u2019s\u00a0a leveraged Bitcoin Proxy.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, 25 February 2026, Bitcoin rallied from $64k to $69k within hours. Because Strategy holds such a massive amount of Bitcoin on its balance sheet, its stock price moves in lockstep with BTC, but often with much higher volatility.<\/p>\n
