The Latest RLUSD Development<\/h2>\n

In April this year, Ripple <\/span>disclosed<\/span><\/a> it will introduce a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the American dollar. The news sparked huge excitement across the XRP community, with many members wondering about the exact specifics and purposes of the product.<\/span><\/p>\n

As of now,<\/span> it <\/span>is known<\/span> that it will be called RLUSD and\u00a0will be available on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and Ethereum.<\/span> Ripple\u2019s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, previously claimed it could <\/span>serve as a bridge between<\/span> the cryptocurrency industry and traditional finance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past several weeks, the team <\/span>minted<\/span><\/a> and burned thousands of RLUSD tokens as part of the private beta testing phase.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most recently, the popular community figure Vet <\/span>said<\/span><\/a> the XRP Ledger amendment to allow (clawback) tokens like the upcoming stablecoin to <\/span>be employed<\/span> in the AMM (Automated market makers) \u201cwent through the code review.\u201d The user maintained that the next step involves \u201csome cosmetics and merge into a new rippled release for validators to vote on.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement triggered renewed speculations that RLUSD might be already live. The product, though, is yet to see the light of day with Vet explaining:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s coming to the XRPL but when is really up to Ripple <\/span>as it\u2019s<\/span> their token.<\/span> When they <\/span>do<\/span> launch we can <\/span>surely<\/span> expect extensive public comms <\/span>on<\/span> it<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Warning<\/span><\/h2>\n

Not long ago, Ripple\u2019s team <\/span>issued<\/span><\/a> an important<\/span> scam alert to users, reminding<\/span> that<\/span> RLUSD is still undergoing <\/span>its beta testing stage<\/span>.<\/span> It cautioned people to pay extra attention when dubious individuals claim the opposite.<\/span><\/p>\n

PSA: Ripple USD (RLUSD) is still in private beta, and while you may see on-chain activity, it\u2019s not available yet. Beware of anyone claiming to distribute #RLUSD<\/a>.<\/p>\n
