One of the main changes is the rollout of PeerDAS, a new system built to boost how much data the network can handle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This matters most for rollups and other scaling tools that depend on Ethereum to publish data on-chain.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Is EIP-7825 And Why Does Ethereum Now Cap Transactions At 16.8m Gas?<\/h2>\n

Developers <\/span>say<\/span><\/a> PeerDAS can let the network process up to eight times more data at once. And it does this without slowing block creation or causing extra congestion.\u00a0<\/span>Over time, that should ease pressure on fees and help transactions confirm more quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teams that run Ethereum-based services have been told to update their software, test the changes on test networks, and get ready for higher data flow once the upgrade goes live.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fusaka goes live on December 3, but its full impact won\u2019t show up overnight. The network will add capacity in stages, with more changes coming on December 9 and January 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the key updates is Ethereum Improvement Proposal 7825 (EIP-7825). It caps each transaction at 2\u00b2\u2074 gas, or about 16.8M.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Fusaka, Ethereum gets several upgrades to protect it against coordinated attacks.<\/p>\n

One is EIP-7825 \u2013 which introduces a ~16.7M gas limit on transactions to prevent a single massive transaction taking up an entire block.<\/p>\n

That means no single transaction can take up an entire block. And that helps keep the network stable when traffic spikes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most regular users won\u2019t feel the change. But teams running complex smart contracts will need to adjust their code to stay within the new limit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wallet providers are also rolling out support for R1 curve cryptography and EIP-7951. The goal is better passkey logins and stronger security on mobile devices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, node operators are preparing for a higher block gas target of 60M, which enables the network to handle more activity overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fusaka is a technical upgrade at heart. But it matters beyond code.
