Tether is in talks to lead a $1.2 billion funding round for Neura Robotics, a German startup building AI-powered humanoid robots. The potential deal would value Neura between \u20ac8 billion and \u20ac10 billion, giving the crypto heavyweight a direct role in one of Europe\u2019s most ambitious robotics projects. The scale of the round and the size of the valuation mark a clear step outside Tether\u2019s usual territory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neura Wants to Be the iPhone Moment for <\/span>Robots<\/span><\/h3>\n

Neura Robotics is not aiming small. <\/span>The company\u2019s roadmap includes manufacturing 5 million robots by 2030, with an initial focus on industrial <\/span>use<\/span> and a longer-term push toward <\/span>consumers<\/span>.<\/span> That kind of mass rollout puts it on a path to becoming one of the first companies to bring humanoid robotics to the mainstream. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s already making progress. In January 2025, Neura raised \u20ac120 million and built an order book that\u2019s now worth more than \u20ac1 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Tether\u2019s Getting Involved<\/span><\/h3>\n

Tether has quietly <\/span>turned into<\/span> a heavyweight investor, thanks to strong <\/span>profits from interest<\/span> on reserves.<\/span> Last year, those reserves brought in about $13.4 billion in profit. The company has been vocal about plans to put some of that capital to work in areas like AI, robotics, energy <\/span>and<\/span> communications. Investing in Neura fits neatly into that strategy. A spokesperson for Tether said they\u2019re actively looking at more deals in frontier tech <\/span>and<\/span> this would be one of their largest.<\/span><\/p>\n
