Life consists of change all the\u00a0time.<\/p>\n
So is trading a never ending\u00a0game?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It is, and it\u2019ll always be that\u00a0way.<\/p>\n Life is never permanent, no matter where you\u00a0stand.<\/p>\n The same meaning goes when it comes to trading in the\u00a0market.<\/p>\n Maybe not with long-term investments, but trading for\u00a0sure.<\/p>\n Trading is a game of constant change, so why not get used to it\u00a0now?<\/p>\n That\u2019s what I want to discuss in this\u00a0post.<\/p>\n When I first got into trading last year, I knew I had to get out of the long-term investor\u00a0mindset.<\/p>\n You know, it\u2019s following the traditional \u201cbuy and hold\u201d investor perspective.<\/p>\n If you invest in a company\u2019s stock for the long-term, it\u2019s possible to get a nice long-term return on\u00a0it.<\/p>\n However, there\u2019s no guarantee you\u2019ll get the best returns possible.<\/p>\n It\u2019s why the investor mindset is more of a \u201cbuy and hope\u201d strategy. I don\u2019t like thinking<\/a> of it that\u00a0way.<\/p>\n But with trading, there\u2019s constant change happening all the time when the market fluctuates.<\/p>\n For traders, particularly with the day-trading route, you have to constantly looking at the charts all the\u00a0time.<\/p>\n Now that\u2019s what I try to stir away from because I hate day trading by all\u00a0means.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no way I\u2019m going to be in front of a computer for 7 hours a day and glued to the\u00a0charts.<\/p>\n That would make me miserable and extremely anxious, especially if I lose a lot of money in one\u00a0day.<\/p>\n Losing hundreds, if not thousands of dollar a day wouldn\u2019t make me sleep well at\u00a0night.<\/p>\n I\u2019d lose lots of sleep, fearful and dreading the next trading\u00a0day.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not the best feeling in the world, and it\u2019s why I don\u2019t like being in that change type mode when it comes to day\u00a0trading.<\/p>\n But day trading is what I don\u2019t do at all. What I\u2019ve been doing is trading options, which requires less time to do each\u00a0week.<\/p>\n While change is constant in trading, it doesn\u2019t mean I have to risk losing\u00a0money.<\/p>\n Trading weekly options means I have to adjust based on where the market is\u00a0at.<\/p>\n But at the same time, whenever I make a trade in selling options, I get a premium (interest payment) in\u00a0return.<\/p>\n At the end of the week, if all goes well, I get the collateral I put in earlier to use for the following week.<\/p>\n If it doesn\u2019t work out, I may have to extend the position out longer. But, I get paid more in interest just by extending it\u00a0out.<\/p>\n It really is that\u00a0simple.<\/p>\n That\u2019s if you follow the framework in the trading program I\u2019m part\u00a0of.<\/p>\n It\u2019s what I do by focusing on achieving 1% in weekly returns.
