Meanwhile, the Binance DEX token ASTER has also surged, pumping 13% to $1.90 on Friday morning. Also this week, former CEO Changpeng Zhao met<\/a> with\u00a0 Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to discuss the country\u2019s crypto ambitions and BNB reserves.<\/p>\n The big BNB move has pushed<\/a> total market capitalization to $4.23 trillion, which is just shy of its mid-August all-time high when Bitcoin peaked.\u00a0This time, altcoins are in the driving seat as BTC remains down 3.2% from its ATH, having tapped<\/a> $121,000 in late Thursday trading before retreating to $120,000 on Friday morning.<\/p>\n Analyst Ted Pillows observed that the total altcoin market cap excluding stablecoins has yet to hit a new all-time high.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m certain that altseason will happen, but not until altcoin market cap hits a new ATH,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The altcoin market cap, excluding BTC and ETH, hit $1.16 trillion on Thursday, just shy of its September 18 peak, according to Tradingview.<\/p>\n Altcoin MCap excluding stablecoins is yet to hit a new ATH.<\/p>\n Most people are calling for \u201cAltseason\u201d based on the Altcoin MCap chart.<\/p>\n I\u2019m certain that Altseason will happen but not until Altcoin MCap (excluding stables) hits a new ATH.<\/p>\n So keep an eye on this chart. pic.twitter.com\/QwRjeyw2qL<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Ted (@TedPillows) October 2, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n\n The Blockchain Center altseason index is currently at 71, which is just below the 75 needed to be officially an altcoin season. CoinMarketCap\u2019s index is also just below at 67, while Bitget\u2019s is even lower at 62.<\/p>\n Ether prices tapped a two-week high of $4,550 on Friday morning but hit resistance there and slid back to $4,480 at the time of writing. The asset has added 16% since its correction to $3,850 in late September.<\/p>\n Solana jumped by 2.7% on the day to reach $235 before a slight pullback.
